Social Progress Portrait for Kópavogur
The municipality Kópavogur is first to set up the first Social Progress Portrait which helps a small community thrive.
13th of April 2018 Iceland’s 2nd largest town Kópavogur became the first to develop a Social Progress Portrait–a new type of assessment for smaller communities to examine what life is truly like & where to improve.
Cognitio as the local partner of SPI in Iceland, in cooperation with a steering group from Kópavogur, lead this project along with its partner in London. The town’s leaders & Cognitio Iceland have to take the first step toward helping the residents thrive and in the process achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
“The Social Progress Portrait will make the city council and our administration more responsive to the need of the inhabitants of Kópavogur by placing greater emphasis on benefits, outcome and results rather than simply service efforts and workload.” Ármann Kr. Ólafsson, Mayor of Kópavogur
